ALBUM: THE MAN ARTIST: OMAR RELEASE DATE: MONDAY 1st JULY LABEL: FREESTYLE RECORDS FIND & FOLLOW: Website: http://www.omarmusic.co.uk/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/omarofficialuk Twitter: https://twitter.com/omarlyefookMBE “When I grow up, I wanna be like Omar” Stevie Wonder “Omar is one of my favourite artists.. ever” Erykah Badu There are precious few, if any contemporary UK artists whose creative credentials and influence extend as far and so consistently wide as Freestyle Records most recent signing Omar. Since first breaking through to worldwide renown all the way back in 1991 with his first releases on Gilles Petersons seminal Talking Loud label, and going onto work with all manner of musical legends including a certain Stevie, Erykah Badu, Angie Stone, Syreeta Wright, Common, and Carleen Anderson. With willing, enthusiastic and supportive collaborators like that, it’s undeniable that Omar maintains his reputation as a soul music Don par excellence. Fast forward to 2013, and Omar’s reputation for being a thoroughly original artist following his own individual path remains undiminished. After recently picking up an M.B.E for his outstanding contribution to the UK music scene, even the British Establishment has now acknowledged what many already appreciated & understood for many years. And in a most timely fashion, Omar returns with a brand new album that many say is without doubt the strongest of his entire career. The buzz generated by the single release of the albums title track ‘The Man’ (FSR099) confirmed beyond doubt that Omar is very much at the top of his game, with everyone from 6 Music’s' Gilles Peterson, Radio 2′s Trevor Nelson and Jamie Cullum giving both major support and high praise for the simply magnificent new high point for Omar’s renowned ability to write devastatingly catchy melodies, coupled with the more live, funkier production exemplified by this brand new, yet already classic song. Across the rest of this new album, the musical treats just keep coming and are too many to list! Opener ‘Simplify’ sets the template, with its luscious & majestic, string backed introduction raising the curtain on this deep, hard grooving number which gives Omar the chance to display the full range and capacity of his unique voice. Getting down and dirty, Omar joins forces with Germany’s Hidden Jazz Quartett on High Heels, growling organ spars with the tough, jagged drum beat on this tough, funk driven collaboration, the story of a man who knows his woman is doing him wrong which is ‘making him crazy’ and is reflected in the contrasting dark & uplifting passages on this killer groove. Latin textures & rhythms have always been part of Omar’s far reaching musical vocabulary, and within this collection and on Come On Speak To Me and Ordinary Day restless south American beats underpin the crisp and fresh melodies, with the latter track evoking samba fuelled, carnival vibes that simply sizzle with energy, and will wear out discerning dance-floors for years to come for certain. Soul II Souls’ Caron Wheeler distinctive voice features on the duet Treat You, a tale of troubled love that is mirrored by the delicate, subtle beats and minimal backing which allows these 2 legendary voices unite beautifully. Completing the circle that began all the way back in the early 1990′s Omar has re recorded his classic love song ‘There’s Nothing Like This’, which this time features bass player to the Gods Pino Palladino. The touching sentiment remains undiminished, but the addition of soaring strings, soulful, jazzy horns, a vibrant live & acoustic feel, and an extended and new arrangement, Omar has done the impossible; improved upon the un-improvable, that is likely to become the definitive version of an already much adored classic. This release will surely become known as his most eclectic, confident, mature and soulful album of his career. After all, Stevie Wonder knows, Erykah Badu knows….and now everyone knows, Omar is The Man.

Pacha Ibiza celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, and the Ibiza house music institution is not resting on its iconic brand. Pachaʼs DJ and club night line-up this season is arguably its most vanguard in many years, with a solid base of credible, underground and superstar DJ talent, and four new weekly parties. This is how summer 2013 will sound at Ibizaʼs most famous nightclub. EPICA is the name of Pachaʼs new Monday club night this summer. Kicking off on May 27, the new weekly party will feature high-energy house and electro house from some of the most exciting DJ names in the scene currently. Residents include Bingo Players – who recently scored a No.1 hit record in the UK, Dada Life, and hot Russian DJ posse Hard Rock Sofa. Chuckieʼs Dirty Dutch crew will takeover EPICA for eight nights over the summer, with Chuckie on the decks himself, alongside some major superstar guest DJs. Original Pacha Ibiza party Flower Power will host Tuesdays, from June 4. The seeds of Flower Power were first sowed in 1973 – the same year that Pacha Ibiza opened its doors – and incredibly, Pacha co-founder Piti Urgell is still its resident DJ. Flower Power reflects Pachaʼs alternative, hippy roots. With a soundtrack spun by Piti that features predominantly rock, soul and disco from the sixties and seventies, the party is quintessential Pacha. Wednesdayʼs are reserved for trippy new night Wisdom of the Glove, hosted by deep tech maestro Guy Gerber. Offering a magical world of genre-defying music, and a surreal theatre of performance and spontaneity, Wisdom of the Glove is Pacha Ibizaʼs most unusual new night. Pachaʼs opulent space will be bound together by glove-wearing magicians, shadow puppeteers and fortune tellers, that pay sacrifice to a centrifugal £150,000 glove. Alongside Guy Gerber, some of the most respected names from electronic music will play including Four Tet (Live), Chromatics, Thugfuckers, Cajmere, dOP, Benoit & Sergio, Shaun Reeves (Visionquest), Craig Richards, and Bill Patrick. Thursdays at Pacha Ibiza have for a long time belonged to French superstar DJ David Guetta, and his wife Cathy. This summer the pairʼs F**** Me Iʼm Famous night will be bigger and better than ever, with Guetta performing on every occasion alongside some of the hottest acts in house music such as Showtek, Arty, Fedde Le Grand, Nicky Romero, Daddyʼs Groove, Arno Cost, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and Zedd. F*** Me Iʼm Famous opens on May 30 with David Guetta and special guest Steve Aoki and runs until October 3. Fridays features yet another exciting new night, called INSANE. Launching May 24, Insane is firmly focused on the hypnotising journey of sound that only talented DJs can provide. As well as its two residents, John Digweed and Fritz Kalkbrenner, Insane will feature DJ sets from true dancefloor visionaries like X-Press 2, Fabricʼs Terry Francis, Visionquestʼs Lee Curtiss, Monika Kruse, UNER, Nic Fancuilli, H.O.S.H, Pleasurekraft, Oliver$, and Steve Lawler. At four Insane parties, DJ Sneak, Mark Farina, and Derrick Carter will also play back-to-back-to-back, and Nic Fancuilli and Joris Voorn will play one of their infamous DJ sessions together at one completely Insane party. Iconic club night Pure Pacha returns to host Saturdays at Pacha Ibiza this summer, with an exciting line-up featuring some of the biggest DJs in clubland. From May 25, Pure Pacha’s usual diverse mix of big name DJ talent and hot up and coming acts will rock Pacha all night long with the very best in big room dance music. Armand Van Helden, Hardwell, Bob Sinclar, Chris Lake, Norman Doray, Martin Solveig, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Swanky Tunes, Bassjackers, Sidney Samson, Dimitri From Paris, Ron Caroll, Milk & Sugar, Michael Calfin, and Dyro as just some of the DJs due to play at Pure Pacha. Solomun+1 completes Pacha Ibizaʼs week, and its new line-up of club nights. Every Sunday from May 26 talented German producer and DJ Solomun – recently named DJ of the year by Mixmag – will play back to back with a special guest in an extended showdown that promises to be as spectacular as it is musically inspiring and fresh. To complement Solomun+1ʼs special celebration of DJ culture and uniqueness, Pachaʼs famous DJ booth is being relocated to the middle of the room, and will be very close to the dancefloor, which should guarantee an intimate, wild atmosphere with two DJs at its centre. Âme, Dennis Ferrer, Miss Kittin, DJ Hell, Nicky Curly, Tiefschwarz, Tensnake, and Marek Hemmann are just the first acts to be named as guests of Solomun+1. https://www.facebook.com/Pacha www.pacha.com www.facebook.com/pacha Pacha Ibizaʼs summer 2013 line-up is a post from: Music Fix - The latest music news
Pacha Ibizaʼs summer 2013 line-up is a post from: Music Fix - The latest music news

4 new boat parties announced on The Arbiana at The Garden Festival, Croatia Tickets go on sale 11am Wednesday 8th May Schtumm, Somethinksounds, Krankbrother and Leftfoot are hosts Special guests include Space Dimension Controller, Maxxi Soundsystem and Nicola Conte East Stage to run across Friday to Sunday – anything goes! Festival takes place Weds 3rd – Weds 10th July Check Chris Leete’s TGF teaser video: http://vimeo.com/47714958 Keep checking www.thegardenfestival.eu for more info With less than two months to go until the 8th installment of The Garden Festival in the idyllic coastal town of Tisno, Croatia, four brand new boat parties have just been announced on The Arbiana, a beautiful boat. Brighton beat-smiths Schtumm, Berlin’s creative collective Somethinksounds, London-based party and DJ duo Krankbrother and Birmingham’s brilliantly left of centre Leftfoot are hosting shows. Special guests include cosmic sound-scapes from Space Dimension Controller, Brighton’s bright young producer Maxxi Soundsystem and Italian acid-jazzer Nicola Conte, who set sail across the sparklingly azure Adriatic. Tickets go on sale from 11am on Wednesday 8th May, and are expected to sell out within hours. After tickets for the Argonaughty’s shows sold out in record time, the team at the Garden’s sunny HQ quickly embarked on finding a new boat to offer a second wave of tickets across Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th July. Nick Colgan, one of the festival’s founders, explains, “We saw how quickly the tickets for the Argonaughty sold and we wanted to offer some new parties as they have been in such high demand. So we have found a lovely boat, The Arbiana, to compliment the shows we already have, which I know people will love. It’s got two decks and will dock in the same place as The Argonaughty, with an hour separating the departures. This is a great chance for anyone who missed out on the action to get a ticket, as the boat parties are such a big part of the overall Garden experience, and we have got some great new crews for the weekend.” Tickets for the parties go on sale from 11am Wednesday 8th May. Schtumm with Maxxi Soundsystem, Neal Schtumm. Saturday July 6th 3pm – 7pm. Somethinksounds with Space Dimension Controller, Somethinksounds Saturday July 6th 8pm – midnight. Krankbrother with special guest TBC and Krankbrother Sunday July 7th 3pm – 7pm. Leftfoot with Nicola Conte, Adam Regan, Matt Beck. Sunday July 7th 8pm – midnight. Book tickets from: http://www.thegardenfestival.eu/#/en/take-part/festival-tickets/ The Garden Festival has also announced its new East Stage, which will run from Friday to Sunday with a strictly anything goes policy, offering a new dimension of music for the festival. Guests across the weekend will be announced soon, all taking part in what promises to be the best Garden Festival yet. The Garden Festival is a unique blending of festival and holiday into a glorious fun-filled journey, dancing under the sun and stars with like-minded people from across the world. The Garden is Croatia’s original event, revered for its intimate family ethos and setting on the beautiful Dalmatian coastline, beyond which glitters the enticingly warm Adriatic. Twice daily boat parties on The Argonaughty and new parties on The Arbiana, the stunning open air club Barbarellas, main stage and beach bar host 7 days and nights of amazing music.
With less than two months to go until the 8th installment of The Garden Festival in the idyllic coastal town of Tisno, Croatia, four brand new boat parties have just been announced on The Arbiana, a beautiful boat.
This is a great chance for anyone who missed out on the action to get a ticket, as the boat parties are such a big part of the overall Garden experience, and we have got some great new crews for the weekend.”

Tickets for the parties go on sale from 11am Wednesday 8th May.

Sunday July 7th 3pm – 7pm.
The Garden Festival has also announced its new East Stage, which will run from Friday to Sunday with a strictly anything goes policy, offering a new dimension of music for the festival.

The Garden Tisno site is set in a gently hilly area which overlooks a beautiful bay below, complete with sandy beach and crystal clear waters, with onsite accommodation available including luxury Shikar tents, Podpads and apartments. Tisno itself – split between the mainland and the island of Murter, joined by a 20m rising bridge – is just a ten-minute walk away, a charming picture-perfect town with a host of restaurants, cafes, apartments and hotels.

Cahill are back with their new single, ‘Feel The Love’ and prove once again that when it comes to anthemic, floor-filling house music, no one does it better! The Liverpool-based trio underline their status as one of the UK’s hottest production outfits as they team up with American Idol star, Kimberley Locke, on vocals, to deliver an uplifting, euphoric track destined to become a summer anthem. Due for release on 16th June on 3 Beat Records, ‘Feel The Love’ brings a simple, positive message, on top of a tune so catchy you’ll be humming it in your sleep! Cahill are Anton Powers, Tim Condran and Scott Rosser. They crashed into the UK charts in 2007 with their first single, ‘Trippin’ On You’, a vocal house classic, playlisted on Radio 1, Galaxy, Kiss FM and more, going on to be played over 30,000 times on UK radio! The trio continued to hone their skills, delivering huge dancefloor smashes, alongside remixes that read like a who’s who of popular music, including; Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Nicole Scherzinger, Taylor Swift, Emeli Sande, Professor Green, Miley Cyrus, Robbie Williams, Mariah Carey, Paloma Faith the list goes on… Kimberley Locke was a competitor on the 3rd series of American Idol, gaining huge exposure as she battled her way to third place. Since then she has forged a successful career in music and television in the US. A chance encounter lead to the opportunity to work with Cahill, and Kimberley’s stunning vocal abilities merged seamlessly with Cahill’s studios skills and dancefloor instincts to create something very special. When these artists got together the message was obvious….#FeelTheLove! ‘Feel The Love’ is already enjoying heavy Radio 1 support from the likes of Greg James and Danny Howard, as well as Capital, KISS FM and many more. The track itself kicks off with the euphoric vocal refrain, ‘Feel The Love’, giving an immediate feel-good injection. From then on the quality Cahill production keeps on building the positive dancefloor vibes, with a warm, funked up bassline, pumping beats and uplifting strings; the perfect backdrop for Kimberley’s soaring vocals. Summer has most definitely landed! The video for ‘Feel The Love’ is the ideal accompaniment to the song; a feel-good video that leaves a smile on your face every time you watch it. It begins with Anton from Cahill writing a message on a post-it note which he leaves crumpled on the floor of a tube train in London. A guy picks it up, reads it and then catches the eye of a beautiful girl. From there, they fall in love and spread the message to Feel The Love across London….http://tinyurl.com/buys342 With Cahill’s dance music background, it’s no wonder that, ‘Feel The Love’, comes with a remix package so big you could hold a festival in its back garden! Alongside Cahill’s own Club Mix, Grum steps up to deliver a cool mix full of early 90’s style pianos and drum loops – destined to be big. Anton Powers teams up with E-Squire for another big room house version, while rising star TS7 shows why he’s being talked about with a quality UK garage mix. Benjamin Leung & Fiasko drop an electro house mix with anthemic chorus and driving bassline, while next up, Toy Armada and DJ Grind add trance-tinged synths to their uplifting mix. Hi Def drops a tougher electro mix, and just when you think you couldn’t dance any more, Tommy MC kicks in with a pumping piano house mix that will drag you back to the dancefloor once again! As the sun starts to shine, the message from Cahill and Kimberley Locke is loud and clear. #FeelTheLove UK Charts Prepare to #FeelTheLove with Cahill ft Kimberley Locke is a post from: Music Fix - The latest music news
UK Charts Prepare to #FeelTheLove with Cahill ft Kimberley Locke is a post from: Music Fix - The latest music news

As one of the first and only female DJs on the circuit at the start of the 90’s, she was a regular at infamous house haunts such as Venus Nottingham, The Haçienda and Ministry of Sound. As songwriter/producer, Venus In Motion, Angel returns with the superbly, self-produced album number two, Somebody’s Heaven, featuring a collection of down-tempo, vocal driven, summer grooves, fit for the discerning listener’s blissed out moments. Angel Johnson’s metamorphosis into Venus In Motion was a long one. As house music grew to be a cultural reference point in the 90’s, she blazed a trail for women in the male-dominated world of club DJs. She had to work harder, mix better and generally take the roof off, to gain equal opportunities. However this determination and work ethic served her well and by the early 90’s she was an in demand, internationally recognised DJ. Although a producer of many dance floor hits in 1994 on Hi Life Records as Angelheart producing with Dean Marriot (D’Ramirez), Angel has always written mellower songs. Since childhood she was intrigued by the emotive power and melody of music, citing early musical influences including Kate Bush, Cat Stevens and Gladys Knight. In the early 90s when the genre ‘chill out’ was born, bands of the decade like Massive Attack and Nightmares On Wax further inspired Angel to record the songs that had gathered in her head. By 2005 she had invested in her own studio and had written and produced her first album as Venus In Motion, Walking In Limbo. After relocating to Barcelona, the album was snapped up by Spain’s leading electronic music imprint Blanco Y Negro Records and Venus In Motion began to appear in down-tempo playlists everywhere. Somebody’s Heaven sharpens the Venus In Motion sound, mixing organic with electronic, weaving melody and melancholy in every tale told. Like many of today’s successful female writers, lyrically, this album speaks from the heart about the personal turmoil of suffocating relationships (Let Me Breathe) and personal change (On The Down), to wavering friendships using tongue-in-cheek metaphors (Friends) and coming across the deluded know-it-all types (Wonderful). The album features a stunning array of guest talent. Angel comments, “Although Venus In Motion is a solo project, like many writers/producers in the genre I use different singers and musicians to bring my work to life. I don’t have the restrictions of a traditional band and can change the formula at any time.” Guest vocalists include the award winning filmmaker Cherry Mars andrising talent Jack Kenworthy;guest musicians such as Crazy P drummer Matt Klose, and Nottingham super-producer and writer, Chris Bucknall. The album also features the pre-released up-tempo single, Crazy People, which thanks to the heavy weaponary of Max Sedgley (Sunday Best Recordings) on remix duties, earned itself a spot in the DMC Buzz Charts and on the airwaves and in DJ sets across the world. Angel said: “I never really know how to categorize my music – although it resides under the chill out umbrella I don’t really see it as chill out. I think of it more as pop which has been influenced by cooler genres like soul, jazz, folk and dub. My style of writing isn’t very cryptic, my lyrics normally tell an obvious tale – a story with a beginning a middle, and an end.” Available as a digital download with bonus tracks and video from iTunes, Somebody’s Heaven is a long player that will no doubt find its way onto the playlists of Ibiza’s beach bars and relaxed sun terraces; a perfect summer soundtrack.
